The U.S.S. Constitution and Other Health Care Reform Lies

September 1, 2009

I wish President Obama would stop trying to befriend his enemies. He’s losing momentum and credibility on health care reform. He hasn’t done a very good job at making his case for reform. The lies and rumors have much more credibility than they should. From the rumored death panel lies to the abortion on demand rumors, the more preposterous the lie, the more likely it is to be believed. When is the President going to learn that you can’t always make nice with your enemies?

The lies spread by opponents of health care like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the GOP are simply astounding, no matter how ridiculous or absurd the lies are, you are going to find some people who believe them. If you don’t believe me, just listen to some of the comments made by people attending a health care reform meeting last week. The ignorance from the people is just astounding. They don’t read, don’t listen and don’t know what the hell they are talking about.

I’m assuming they are all employed, have health insurance and are happy with it. I know people like Beck, Limbaugh and Republican members of Congress don’t ever have to worry about whether their health insurance is going to pay for their gall bladder surgery or cover that new prescription. On the other hand, the nearly 44 million of uninsured people in this country don’t have this option.

The people interviewed for this video are too angry for this to only be about health care.

C is for Crazy

August 31, 2009

Fox News host and fear monger Glenn Beck has broken out the chalkboard to incite even more fear in his pea-brained audience. The big word last week was OLIGARHY, except Beck misspelled it and even worse, most of his audience probably didn’t notice it anymore than they noticed his lame attempt at connecting things that have nothing in common.

Hidden agendas have nothing to do with Obama, left internationalists, ACORN or graft. Beck uses these words to incite his audience, knowing good and darn well they don’t know what they mean and are too stupid to look them up. Isn’t it much easier to let someone like Beck do your thinking for you than thinking for yourself?

Dumbassness and Just Plain Crazy – Orly Taitz

August 3, 2009

Orly Taitz is the leader of the “birther” movement. She claims that President Obama is a fraud and is not legally President of the United States. Six months after he was elected President by popular vote and electorate college votes, people who have bought into the “birther” claims persist in perpetuating ridiculous rumors about where Obama was born. Pssst…you know he wasn’t really born in Hawaii…have you ever seen his REAL birth certificate!?

This Orly woman and the rest of the “birthers” think they know something the rest of us don’t. They’ve invested a great deal of time and money in decrying the fact that Barack Obama is not a natural born U.S. citizen and no amount of fact checking or proof is going to satisfy their dumbasses. If I were President Obama, I would ignore their asses too.

I wish as much energy could be expended on something beneficialy like healthcare reform or world peace! It’s rather perplexing to watch people throw everything including the kitchen sink at President Obama. Why don’t they just come out and tell us how they really feel! That big old pitcher of haterade seems bottomless.

A black man gets elected as President and some folks have lost their minds especially those folks on the right side of conservative. From the Christian minister praying for Obama’s death to the Glenn Beck who called the president racist. This country is full of haters, literally and figuratively, who want to change the rules of the game because they lost.

Isn’t all this “birther” nonsense really about race? Some people are working 24/7/365 to besmirch the President. Since when did people get so interested in what the Constitution says? It gets ignored most of the time, except for that amendment about the right to bear arms (#2) .

Why are people so damned hateful? Because this is America and they can be. If this Orly Taitz was anywhere else, she would be thrown in jail indefinitely, tortured mercilessly or just plain executed. She is obviously very passionate about her beliefs however misguided and hateful they are. In this interview, she’s practically foaming at the mouth and doesn’t exactly come across as credible but maybe she was having a bad day.

Obama the Witch Doctor

July 25, 2009

If this picture doesn’t scare you into believing President Obama is a socialist, I don’t know what will. This is another one of those widely circulated conservative emails that made the rounds last week. This one is courtesy of Dr. David McKalip, a conservative activist in St. Petersburg, Florida who is also a practicing neurosurgeon.

McKalip has since apologized for the email and claims he sent an apology email to the President. He also admitted to erroneously transposing the President’s head onto the body of a New Guinea tribesman. Now before you start thinking there is something racist about this image, McKalip has already debunked your suspicions. He has affirmed that the image has nothing to do with his feelings or thoughts on any race or culture. So there!

If all this anger is really about health care, I’m concerned. Why are conservatives, particularly those rich talk show hosts, so opposed to affordable health care for everyone? If the Republicans were really serious about winning back popular support, they should be knocking themselves out to come up with an opposing health care plan of their own. I really want to be convinced that $2,000 tax credit for buying my own health insurance is a good idea. Unfortunately for them, their opposing strategy never rises above petty racism and fear-mongering.

God Talks to Joe the Plumber?

July 1, 2009

Joe the Plumber (aka Samuel Wurzelbacher) has decided against running for public office. If you’re thinking what I’m thinking, you’re probably breathing a sigh of relief. Whoever had that lame idea that someone like Wurzelbacher is suitable for public office needs to be knocked the f**k out. Clearly his fifteen minutes is over and he desperately needs to fade back into obscurity and anonymity.

I’m thinking the same people wanting him to run for public office probably think Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is the Republican presidential front-runner in 2012. *crickets chirping* Surely God talks to other people and not just Joe the Plumber. According to Wurzelbacher he talked to God and “he was like, ‘No.” If God is listening, I sure wish he’d tell Joe to shut up and go away.

Republican Politics of Fear

May 1, 2009

After the first 100 days of Barack Obama’s presidency, all the stale old Republicans can come up with is a scary video. Fear, which is something they’ve spent the past eight years cultivating, is a convenient fallback when they don’t have any proven strategies or new ideas.

Republican House Leaders John Boehner and Pete Hoekstra thought producing this video would be a good way show how Democrats and President Obama are weak on defense, commiserating with our enemies and setting this country up for another terrorist attack. Scared yet?

If I didn’t know any better, this video looks like something that could have been produced by the Bush people last year or even six years ago. This is all old stuff, none of it is compelling enough to arouse fear. Hugo Chavez doesn’t scare me. Sure, he has a jug head and big ears but I’m not scared of him. Apparently, neither is President Obama.

I’m not sure why I should be afraid of the Saudis. Sure they’re different, they’re Muslim and have more oil than we do but I’m not scared of them. While Boehner and Hoekstra might find the Saudis scary, the only thing about the Saudis that concerns me is their deplorable treatment of women and girls. Child bride anyone? I find their interpretation of Islam is extremely disturbing and detrimental to women.

As far as those jihadi guys go, I find them just as misguided about Islam as the Saudis except they embrace the murder of innocent people to prove their point. There ain’t no holy war (jihad) except for the one in their screwed up heads. If they think killing innocent people will further their cause, there’s not much we do about it.

For me, it’s not the Saudis, the jihadis or Hugo Chavez but those who cling to outdated ideas and warped thinking that scare me. Remember those crowds at Sarah Palin’s rallies during the 2008 presidential campaign? Getting all riled up over Obama’s “palling around with terrorists“, his funny-sounding name and his alleged ties to Islam? Now those people scare me and I don’t even have to go to Saudi Arabia, Cuba or Pakistan to see them.

Michelle Bachmann, Republican Conspiracy Theorist

April 30, 2009

I don’t know what’s going on in Minnesota but Republican Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann should be an embarrassment to the people who voted for her. This chick says some of the wackiest, craziest stuff that if I were one of her constituents, I’d be circulating a petition to get her ass recalled. She’s nuttier than box of peanut brittle.

According to Bachmann, the last time we had a swine flu epidemic another Democrat was president. She wasn’t signifying or insinuating anything but in her narrow, simple little mind there’s connection between Democrats and health epidemics.

By now, we all know chick doesn’t bother to check her facts because she’s so desperate to besmirch President Obama and the Democrats. We can always count on her for comic relief at the most inappropriate moments. I know she’s trying her best to politicize a health epidemic but I’m going to need her to check out her facts first but I may be expectng for too much.

Dumbassness of the Day: Rush Limbaugh

April 16, 2009

Uncle Rush says President Obama didn’t know that the Somali pirates were young black Muslim men, if he did, he would have handled the situation differently. I’m sure he doesn’t really believe this but since he’s made a career out of entertaining people with his bigotry, ignorance and bitterness, he can’t let his audience down, the show must go on.

In his world, the dangerous black men with big knives and automatic weapons terrorizing the high seas a few days ago are now defenseless Muslim teenagers and community organizers. This would be funny if people didn’t believe everything Rush Limbaugh says.

Sipping Tea

April 16, 2009

If this man is an example of the tea party protesters, I feel sorry for them. They don’t even have enough sense to be embarrassed by their own ignorance. You’ve got unhinged conservative people bonding over their paranoia. President Obama hasn’t even been in office 100 days yet these people are whining about socialism and fascism when they sat through eight years of the George H.W. Bush and didn’t utter a word. I see some people will never get over the fact that a black man got elected President of their country.

Funny thing about these pitiful angry people is that few of them even know what fascism and socialism is. All I see is a bunch of misplaced anger. Let’s blame the black guy. I mean everybody knows Obama is a socialist right? These people are incapable of thinking for themselves so they rely heavily upon opportunists like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck or stay glued to Fox News all day long while the world passes them by.

When President Bush was spending this country into oblivion, not a word was uttered by any of these people. Bush was their guy so whatever he did was okay. Where were they when his administration lied about going to war with Iraq? Better yet, where was the outrage when they found out the size of government actually increased under his administration? You’ve got people whining about the bailout who didn’t have a problem when Bush was squandering our tax money in Iraq. Where were these people then? If they were to honestly look back over the past eight years, they would have plenty to be upset about but they simply can’t bring themselves to do it.

Now these fringe folks are banding together under the guise of taxes to express their paranoia about the president, the country and the bailout. Do any of these people make cogent arguments? I’m thinking just a few do. The really smart, educated conservatives are staying away from these tea parties, only opportunistic politicians like the Governor of Texas are attending these events; he’s so mad he’s threatening to secede from the union all while spending stimulus money from government.

Listening to tea party people makes my IQ drop about 50 points. Ur-uh, I think he’s a fascist. Why? Because he is!? WTF! I see it doesn’t take much education or common sense to be a tea party conservative either, all you do is whine, complain and repeat. Now if they could harness some of that energy into something positive, that would be a good thing but know, nothing good is going to come of these events. Next thing you know they’ll be starting up lynch mobs, hatching Obama assassination plots and talking sucession.

Guess Who’s Going to Miss This Year’s Watermelon Harvest?

February 27, 2009
Photo: Mayor Dean Grose, Los Alamitos, California

Citing cultural ignorance and outright cluelessness, Los Alamitos Mayor Dean Grose will be stepping aside on Monday. That email he sent to small group of friends ignited a hailstorm of criticism and brought more attention to the Mayor than he really intended.

Mayor Grose says didn’t know that people would be offended by the email and had no idea that watermelon had any racial connotations. Did I mention he was sorry? Of course he is!
